Italian Legend

As whatscookingamerica.net states: The word "sauce" is a French word that means a relish to make our food more appetizing.  Sauces are liquid or semi-liquid foods devised to make other foods look, smell, and taste better, and hence be more easily digested and more beneficial.

I am taking my condiment cooking a step further and have attempted a homemade Spaghetti Sauce.

Ingredients

1lb angus ground beef
1 can tomato paste
1 green pepper
5 medium size ripe tomatoes
2medium onions halved
12 button mushrooms
5 garlic cloves
1 tbsp oregano
1/2 tbsp basil
2 cups water/redwine
olive oil

I have been utilizing my amazing chef's rival for all the chopping and mixing.

Chop the garlic cloves and set aside.
In a pot, fry beef and add 2 tsp of chopped garlic, and use remaining garlic for sauce.
Add 1 tsp of salt.
Fry beef and garlic until beef is brown.
Set aside
Finely chop halved onion and set aside in a bowl.
Also chop the green pepper, button mushrooms and tomatoes and set aside.
Pan fry onions, green peppers and chopped garlic in a little olive oil until onions are cooked.
Add oregano and basil.
Add beef, tomato paste and chopped tomatoes in mixture
Add 2 cups of water and allow sauce to simmer over low heat.
Stir occasionally for about 45 minutes or until sauce thickens
Add salt, pepper and oregano to taste.

This came out amazing!!!
I didn't add water but I did add some Barefoot Merlot and it changed up the taste.

The taste wasn't what I was used to but it did come out delicious and if you have any leftover i recommend adding corn, stewed tomatoes, red peppers, and macaroni noodles with a bit more water and you can end up with goulash.
